Once again, the moral appears to be, if I attend both sessions each month, I produce work which I'm MUCH happier with!
Unfortunately, this was the last class for the year (boo!) but on the plus side, the model, a Sydney-based dancer and burlesque performer, Lady Cave was a glorious, petite lady with a Louise Brooks-esque bob in glistening raven black and gorgeous pale skin, which allowed me to play around a lot with contrast and texture. Wee!

Hey Pais is an awesome journal comic made by a cat! This cat lives with ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) yellowcardigan and preachertom and has her own LJ, heypais ! These would make really good presents for someone who likes cats. Actually I am a bit scared of cats but I still really like them. You can read them here and buy them here.
Matthew Scott makes beautiful illustrations and sells them as prints! tedprior bought me some for my birthday and I love them. You can see his website here and buy prints here.
Another person who makes beautiful prints is S. Britt. I am in awe of this guy, he makes the most amazing art! His work reminds me of vintage Golden Books, and that it just about the highest honour I can bestow. His website is here and his shop is here. I bought the Carly the Crafty Chick print and it looks gorgeous!
Apak are amazing! I have bought little prints from them for tedprior before. I can't buy this mug because the shipping to Australia costs more than the mug, but I bet you can get it! Check out their beautiful art here and buy some of it here.
Matt Reidsma makes beautiful, thoughtful comics that will make you happy. He also does request drawings, which would make a brilliant present! Also a super-cheap one: "We're having a sale on Sketches! Little drawings are now almost all $5, watercolors more like $10. Get them while the price is low! If you want a custom sketch, just convo me and I'll draw whatever you like for $5 plus shipping." Whatta deal! Read his comics here and buy his stuff here.

| Art f'r art's sake... Part 8 - Ruby, Early November |

After the disappointing results from the last session, I was determined to keep up, and the results seem to be agreeing with me.
These are from the class from early November, which featured gymnast and acrobat Ruby Grapefruit.
A lot of her poses were her suspended from the ceiling, initially on two long scarfy things (I'll think of the name later) and then on a large metal ring. She had a very distinct body shape, and some unique poses. Unfortunately, with some of the earlier ones, there were some problems due to the nature of the suspension, where she kept rotating which made it difficult to sketch.
That said, I got a surprising amount of finished or near-finished work out of this one.

Hey! I am not so good at taking pictures of myself, but look! My copy of Meathaus' GO FOR THE GOLD 3 arrived just now. It's a collection of artists' sketchbook pages, featuring people like Ines Estrada, Brandon Graham, James Jean, Peter Chung, Katie Rice, Rebecca Sugar, Nick Gazin and more. I am also in this book. Some mistake?!?!

Continues to evolve at a glacial pace but has since moved miles. It’s an awesome collaboration with people I admire so..I thank my minions for the patience. We have big plans for the album and when I say plans, I really mean more games, more fun for the minions…in a very sanity challenged way.
