Perambulating Ame-yoko
I made a video of Ame-yoko for you!

It looks terrible in 'standard quality', so I'm attempting to embed it in high quality...



If 'high quality' loads too slowly on your connection, you can click through to YouTube and watch it in standard quality instead. Not really worth it though; everything's an ugly blur.

Like an idiot, I filmed this without my sexy and expensive wide-angle lens, even though this is exactly the sort of thing a wide-angle lens is for. I just forgot all about it.

That was pretty interesting, reminded me of a strange mix between Manilla in the Philippines and Queen Street Mall in Brissie. I'd love to go to a place like that with a few good mates and a lot of alcohol.

You would have to get drunk during the day -- Ame-yoko is totally dead at night. The rest of Ueno is quite lively, but Ame-yoko is abandoned after about 10:00, except for old prostitutes and older homeless people.

PS. Don't come to Ame-yoko and get drunk during the day.

Don't worry, it'd never happen anyway. As it turns out, most of my friends either can't or won't ever leave Australia!

It's okay. I have an extra organ that converts sadness into donuts! Unfortunately, they poison my blood stream, and that makes me sad.

The only thing I wished I could communicate to you in the film is that Alice and I were saying, "Faster, Patrick! Faster!".

What was that mysterious green shop that appears to have the word, "TOAST" on it?
